Formulas about Spheres

Spheres are everywhere: in basketballs, in soccer balls, in bubbles, in the Earth itself, and--most importantly--in Mathcounts problems, where you may be required to do calculations about them. For that latter category, here are a couple of formulas to help you:

• For a sphere with radius r, the surface area is:
  A = 4πr²
• For a sphere with radius r, the volume is:
  V = (4/3)πr³
